Kirklinton Hall is a stunning, magical wedding venue. Available for wedding hire from the 1st April until 30th September, we hold only two weddings per month each year to ensure exclusive use of the venue for your wedding day. Couples can craft their bespoke wedding by taking over the whole site, transforming the Great Hall and extensive gardens to suit their own style and vision.

Our stunning venue has all of the makings of the perfect wedding. Our professional kitchen and fully staffed bar are all you need for delicious food and plentiful drinks, including Carlisle Brewing Company beers on draught, and we have seating and tables for up to 200 guests. The 17th century hall has been gradually adapted whilst still retaining its historic features, with the addition of flooring, outside lighting, and patio style heating, for the perfect balance of contemporary and historic.

Three of our rooms are licensed for weddings: the Great Hall; the carriage house, which is perfect for a more intimate ceremony; or the ante-room for a private ceremony. Each of these spaces can be adapted to help you create your ideal wedding. We also have a luxury glamping yurt and a campsite which guests are welcome to use, as well as excellent relationships with local hotels and B&Bs.

Kirklinton Hall is a historic 17th century country house, with an extensive and colourful history. Throughout the years, the hall has been used as an RAF base, a school, a hotel, and a nightclub, until it was badly damaged by fire in the 1970s. After being derelict for 40 years, Kirklinton Hall and its extensive grounds and gardens are now being restored to their former glory.

Kirklinton Hall is set in 14 acres of gardens for you to explore, including an orchard, nuttery, bog garden, and quince grove, complete with ducks, pigs, a yurt, gypsy caravan, and campsite. The Great Hall is surrounded by a scented rose maze and rose terraces. You can pick your own fruit and vegetables from the gardens, or buy plants to take home. Perfect for family days out, the children’s garden is home to a sandpit and playhouse - or take a walk through the woods to the faerie glen, and relax at the Captain’s Seat by the beck, where you might spot the rock carving of the faerie princess. Once you’ve finished exploring, enjoy a slice of homemade cake with a cup of tea or coffee, beer, or wine in our cosy tearoom. Kirklinton Hall is a fantastic day out for visitors of all ages.

  • Lovely local ruin used for weddings but great to visit for a walk and they serve traditional tea whilst you sit near a lovely log fire. Vegetable and fruit gardens and there is a stream. Dogs are welcome.
